About the Author

Melissa was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and graduated with a degree in finance. Wanting to escape the cold, snowy winters, she and her husband relocated to North Carolina, where they welcomed their first child. From the beginning, one of Melissa’s favorite things to do with her son was read to him. This sparked her passion for children’s literature. Watching her own children grow and learn to navigate their world inspired her to write her own children’s story. Melissa currently lives in Marvin, North Carolina with her husband, two children, and rescue pups and she hopes to one day read this story to her future grandchildren.
